: : BTW, The Intrepid class ships have a saucer section, but I was under the impression that it could not seperate. : At first (actually all) glances it would seem like that were the case, but if you ever built the model (mine looks absoloutly awesome by the way, I did a really surprisingly good job on it) you could definately see how it could seperate. It would be pretty wierd looking, but it could. Where does it say that the Intrepid class has a detachable saucer? Just out of curiousity, what color did you paint the full hull? Duck egg or blue white? I have the E-D and its molded duck egg, but it looks so strange that I painted it gun metal grey. Then it looks normal. They have generic fiber optic kits now for all space models.I'm going to use one on my Reliant. I haad the E-A with lights and sounds, but it swan dived over the Genisis Planet. I've salvages the lights dns ounds, and will incorporate them into the Reliant. I have another sound system from a Stell Tec toy that I'm putting in the E-D fiber optic. Only problem is the two systems use differant bateries so I have to modify the current, complicated by the fact that i want to go AC so i can just plug it in. I'd also love to have a IR remote for the sucker, but really is pushing it. I wish I was more capable in curcuits, I hear that there are new chips that will record sounds for playback. You can integrate them into rail road kits. I kknow they have that new program ,me talking Barbie, so it can't cost too much. Did I mention that I've had these models for about two years now and still haven't painted them. Creative yes, motivated no.
