question about a mission.

Hi. I have a question. In mission 10,
or 11 (I don't remember exactly), the initial
objective is to accept a certain Klingon's
apology (and again, I don't remember his name
right now). Can anyone give me a clue how I do
this? It always semms to me that the initial objective is to be lost by default, and start a battle with the heavy cruiser. But is there
another way?
