I *loved* this episode. It was fabulous in nearly every regard. The Doc's comment of "Let's just say I added a little something to my program" had me falling off my chair--a situation I find myself in a lot more this past season (and I love it). And the humor/urgency of the interplay between the two EMH's was pure genius--Andy Dick was a perfect choice for the second EMH.

A post a bit earlier wishes it could have been a two parter--I think that probably would have been difficult. There really wasn't a ton more to be covered/talked about, and the urgency of the situation on the Prometheus was 1/2 the fun. I do agree that they could have gained a couple extra minutes by axing out a few scenes on Voyager that would have been more interesting minutes to add to the Prometheus side of the story. But all in all, the story worked very well. For example, they didn't waste time explaining *how* the Romulans took over the Prometheus, or why, or whatever. It wasn't important--only that fact that they *had* taken over was important.

One touch that I really liked, and I know some will disagree, is that they *didn't* have enough time (or another way) to send personal messages to family through the link with the doctor. Part of the reason Voyager has become more interesting this past season is that they've lost the "I'm so homesick, I miss my family" references--the crew is beginning to become its own family unit more and more. Writing personal messages and knokwing they got through to husbands/wives/children/whoever would have reopened that door again. It was enough to just have the Federation made aware that Voyager was still 'alive.'

Anyway--I've rambled on long enough. Please share any viewpoints you have, agreeing or disagreeing, to any points I've made.

If Voyager keeps turning out episodes like this one, we're all in for a long and enjoyable series run.
