You originally posted that there was a discrepancy between the novels and the First Contact movie and you seemed to be in confusion as to why. My posts are just trying to explain that the MOVIE and TELEVISION producers only keep continuity with the MOVIES and the TELEVISION shows, what happens in the books, even though they might write, consult, edit or whatever them, do not effect in more than a minimal way The CANNON (not common) Star Trek Universe.

I have nothing against the Novels, I have about 110 of them, most of them were very good. I'm just trying to explain that The discrepancy between the Novels, and the movie was because the novles, no matter who writes them, or how good they are, are not part of the Mainstream Trek Universe.
