track you down. I know this due to personal experience. I help a friend run a network at a local school, one with internet linkup. Someone did post a simular message on the message board there, and we called the cops. Although the guy turned out to be in the same town, the FBI had juristion because his linkup went across the state lines (via the internet). It took them about 5 hours (after they started looking), even though the person left no email address, and the board does not log any personal ID (something like what Rob Chen here has). It turns out that all internet servers keep a log of all message traffic for a period of 3 weeks (or more in some cases). Rest assured that if they go looking, they can find you.
