Many books about the ongoing Star Trek saga is filled with actions and stories that aren't available in movies or episodes. ESPECIALLY when it's written by a person who knows it best, a person who plays an important character in Star Trek.

I was just trying to compare between the two kinds of media. The star trek saga should in every way fit in to the plot. Example:
the Enterprise B. It wasn't until Generations that 1701-B was an excelsior class vessel. It was mentioned in the book ST:TNG "Fathoms" Turns out the follow up of that book was the Excelsior herself in Generations.
