:
: : in the episode " The Nuetral Zone " the Romulans
: : are encountered for the first time on TNG (this we know)
: : The Enterprise goes to envestigate the distruction of collinies
: : around the nuetral zone.....Ok I'll get to the point...
: : In all the years I've watched ST:TNG, I never saw where
: : it was explained what destroyed the colonies...did I miss
: : it somewhere, or does it remain one of lifes little mysteries.

: : ( I always assumed it was the Crystalline entity )

: It was the Borg.

: No one came out and said it, but it fit the Borg profile. Scoop up an entire colony. Leave nothing behind.

I always wanted to assume that it was the Borg, but that would mean that the Borg were in
our area of space during the first season and it just doesn't fit...the Borg were no where near
the Alpha quadrant when Q sent the Enterprise to introduce them to each other.
If it was a Borg ship then why did it stop there...there would have been a distress
call of an unknown ship heading their way being so close to the Nuetral Zone it was always monitored,
yet nothing was picked up, so I just assumed it was never a ship--hince the Crystaline Entity.
( of course I could be wrong...usually am )
