in the episode " The Nuetral Zone " the Romulans
are encountered for the first time on TNG (this we know)
The Enterprise goes to envestigate the distruction of collinies
around the nuetral zone.....Ok I'll get to the point...
In all the years I've watched ST:TNG, I never saw where
it was explained what destroyed the colonies...did I miss
it somewhere, or does it remain one of lifes little mysteries.

( I always assumed it was the Crystalline entity )
